Recycling textiles is still in its infancy

Opportunities for textile recycling start with the design Textile recycling is a labour-intensive process. Cotton jeans, for example, often contain other materials such as elastane (stretch fabric), sewing threads and zippers. It is this combination of materials that makes processing into recycled fibers difficult, which is why it is important for designers to know more about textile recycling processes so that they can take this into account when designing textile products. For example, by using fewer types of textile fibers and by ensuring that they are easy to disassemble.
A Godfrieds jeans consists of 100% organic materials: cotton, linen and corozo.
