What makes our jeans unique?
At Godfrieds Jeans we believe in using the very best raw materials and production methods that align with our commitment to excellence. Our main fabric, denim, is made from selvedge denim, woven on authentic shuttle looms. This age-old weaving technique results in a beautifully finished selvedge along the fabric, which we use for the side seam of our jeans. The slow action of these looms, trusted by manufacturers who put quality before profit, allows us to deliver a product that exudes craftsmanship.
Where are our jeans produced?
Our jeans are made with love in our workshop in Belgium, where we use machines that have been used for decades and are still known for their reliability in the production of high-quality jeans.
What makes our craftsmanship so special?
As the sixth generation of "Vanden Daele" clothing makers, craftsmanship is deeply rooted in our genes. This heritage is tangible in every stitch of our jeans. Our commitment to quality is reflected in the meticulous adjustment of stitching and machinery to ensure durability. Delicate felled seams are handmade, such as the inseam and back seams, to prevent them from opening after wearing or washing.
Which materials for buttons and thread?
At Godfrieds Jeans we strive for authenticity in every detail. Our buttons are made from corozo, a natural material that was appreciated worldwide before the rise of plastic. These are carefully sewn by hand to ensure perfect stem formation under the button. For our sewing thread, we mainly choose linen thread, a robust material that retains its strength even when wet.
